This position is located in the Manpower Management Records and Performance (MMRP) Branch, Manpower Management Division (MM) Manpower and Reserve Affairs Department (M&RA), Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC) in Quantico, Virginia.

As the Supervisor Human Resources Assistant (MIL) you will be responsible for administering laws, military regulations and Marine Corps Directives where they apply to the Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) of Marines; compiling information form the military personnel records of present and former Marines.  

  You must be a US Citizen.Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance.Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period. You must obtain and maintain a secret security clearanceMajor duties and responsibilities:

·     Supervise and direct the work of subordinates, assigning work based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.     

·      Identify current and future position requirements to ensure recruitment is appropriately focused and timely.

·      Prepare Performance Plans and Individual Development Plans (IDPS) to ensure developmental and training needs are met.

·      Participate in weekly staff meetings to receive and develop plans for future work projects.

·      Analyze military personnel issue to ensure adherence to appropriate laws, policies, and regulations.

·      Provide complex administrative services involving the official permanent records for all active duty Marines as well as all Marine Corps veterans.

·      Assist staff in responding to questions concerning various types of data (e.g. verification of ratings of reprimand or reduction, failure of selection, conduct marks, effective date of discharge, and character of service).

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: utilizing knowledge of military personnel principles, concepts, legal requirements, and methodology to gather facts, respond to questions, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide advisory services regarding military personnel issues.

REQUIREMENTS:

Generally, current Federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
