SENIOR LECTURER IN EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT

Requirements

 Be a holder of a PhD in Early Childhood Development or its equivalent from a reputable university
 Must have taught at university level for a minimum of five years as Lecturer or an equivalent position
 Must have published at least two articles in peer-reviewed journals and/or university level books or 
chapters

Responsibilities:
 Teaching and training of students in the area of specialization
 Conducting  quality research to enhance the scholarship and intellectual contribution in the area of
specialization

SENIOR LECTURER IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS / SECURITY STUDIES  

Requirements

 Be a holder of a PhD in International Relations/Studies, Security Studies, Military Science, International
Law or equivalent qualifications from a reputable university
 Must have taught at university level for a minimum of five years as Lecturer or an equivalent position
 Must have published at least two articles in peer-reviewed journals and/or university level books or 
chapters

SENIOR LECTURER IN FINANCE 

Requirements

LECTURER IN ECONOMICS (THREE YEARS RENEWABLE CONTRACT)  

Requirements

 Be a holder of a PhD in Economics or its equivalent from a reputable university
 Must have taught at university level for a minimum of two years as Lecturer or an equivalent position
 Must have published at least one article in peer-reviewed journals
 Masters degree holders with over five years university teaching experience will also be considered


Responsibilities:

ICT MANAGER

Requirements
 Be a holder of a Master’s and a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or its equivalent from a reputable
university
 Must have worked as an ICT professional for a minimum of ten years and currently serving as a senior
manager in a busy organization preferably an institution of higher education
 Must have demonstrable ICT project management and troubleshooting skills
 Must be registered by the relevant professional body


Responsibilities
 Implementing  the ICT strategy in line with the university’s policies, processes and procedures,
 Implementing ICT Projects, databases and ensuring systems security
 Overseeing the provision of effective and efficient ICT services as per the University’s requirements

 Management of University-wide hardware and software purchasing arrangements
 Providing technical support, development and management of communication services such as fixed and
wireless data networks, telephone systems, voicemail and high speed access to the internet
 Planning  and recommending suitable ICT infrastructure and technological systems to meet University’s
needs

NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR  

Requirements:
 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or its equivalent from a reputable university
 4 years’ experience in a busy ICT environment 
 Possession of recognized ICT certifications such as CCNA, VMWare, ITP or equivalent qualifications

Responsibilities:
 Administration of ICT network infrastructure support and implementation
 VMware Infrastructure Support, Design and Implementation
 Administration, Installation and configuration of Domain servers
 Provision of primary and disaster recovery support
 Management of mail server configuration and administration
 Administration of network Security
 Management of data center
 Any other duties assigned by the head of department

SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER

Requirements:

 Master’s degree in Human Resource Management with 3 years’ experience as Senior HRO or HRO with six
years of experience in a busy Human Resource Department in a supervisory position
 Professional Certification, Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management or equivalent 
 Must possess knowledge of Human Resource Information System
 Member of HR Professional body with a practicing license
 High sense of integrity and honesty
 Mature personality with capacity of handling confidential matters
 Strong disposition towards customer service and team work 
 Must be detail oriented, proactive, an innovative thinker and problem solver

Responsibilities:

 Formulate & Implement best practices, HR Policies and systems in order to support the University Business
strategy 
 Keep abreast of pertinent developments in Human Resource Management and ensure the University is compliant
 Monitor developments in various career structures and recommend revisions to schemes of service
 In collaboration with line managers’ assess the employees training needs, development and management of staff
training programmes by organising and facilitating staff training, seminars and in house-workshops

Requirements:

 Must have a thorough understanding of the labour laws
 Demonstration of interpersonal skills, servant leadership, creativity and ability to make decisions

Responsibilities:
 Coordinating recruitment and selection processes
 Preparing HR budgets in line with the staff establishment
 Ensuring an updated Human Resource Information System
 Coordinating regular appraisal of staff records
 Managing staff and student medical insurance services
 Providing secretariat services to the various HR committees
 Responding to staff disciplinary matters
 Staff benefits administration
 Coordinating staff promotions and confirmations

Requirements:

ASSISTANT PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER

Requirements 
 Be a holder of Bachelors’ degree in Public Relations or its equivalent from a reputable University
 Must be registered by the relevant professional body
 Must have three years’ experience in a busy organization

Responsibilities


 Ensuring the production of all publications and communications going out of the University.
 Carrying out events management activities
 Responding to customer relations matters
 Carrying out social media interactions
 Ensuring availability of publicity material
 Assisting in media relations management
 Facilitating internal communication
 Any other duties assigned by the head of department
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER
Requirements: 
 Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or its equivalent from a reputable university
 5 years relevant experience.
 Computer literacy skills (MS Office, e-mail, Internet)
 Good Interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

 Planning and implementing  maintenance schedules
 Regularly inspecting working conditions of all utility equipment and service supplies
 Submitting daily report on water supply levels from tank and borehole.
 Liaising with user departments, contractors, various outsourced services, and providers to ensure there is
continuity of work.
 Supervising maintenance staff, contracted employees in carrying out emergency tasks
 Advising on maintenance issues related to design and implementation of projects or renovations, regular
maintenance materials required their quantities and cost estimates.
 Attend contractor site meetings.

STUDENT COUNSELLOR

Requirements 


 Be a holder of a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology or its equivalent from a reputable university
 Must be a registered member of a relevant counselling professional body
 Must have worked as Counsellor for a minimum of five years preferably an institution of higher education

Responsibilities
 Carrying out individual and group counseling services for improved student psychological health
 Identifying and training peer counselors for role modeling
 Counseling students on matters related to the code of conduct for behavior change
 Making referrals on extreme counseling cases for corrective actions
 Organizing counseling and leadership seminars for knowledge and capacity building

ASSISTANT RESIDENT CHAPLAIN - ATHI RIVER CAMPUS
Requirements 
 Be a holder of Bachelors’ degree in Theology or its equivalent from a reputable University
 Must have demonstrable pastoral training
 Must be an ordained Minister in a recognized Evangelical Church
 Must have three years ministry experience

Responsibilities 
 Assisting the University Chaplain with planning, coordination of bible study, prayer meetings, mentorship
and chapel activities
 Preaching at Chapel meetings and leading in worship
 Conducting spiritual counseling under the Chaplaincy
 Provision and maintenance of reports and administrative data for religious operations of the University
 Assisting the University Chaplain in planning religious support operations and deployments
 Assisting the university chaplain in discipleship and spiritual nurture programs for the University
 Providing support in the organization of outreach, missions,  pastoral care and visitations
 Any other duties assigned by the head of department


LIBRARIAN – TECHNICAL SERVICES 
Requirements 
 A Master’s Degree in Library Science or its equivalent from a  reputable university
 At least three years’ work experience in Technical Services Section, with at least one year in a supervisory
position 
 Thorough knowledge of library management systems
 Must be a registered member of a relevant professional body


Responsibilities 
 Responsible for  cataloging and classification of electronic and print library collections, including books, serials,
databases, AV, and other collections 
 Troubleshooting of library online catalog system
 Maintenance of the library bibliographic database, including the input of information, verifying the accuracy of
information in the data base, and ensuring maximum access to the collection in the most cost effective manner
 Ensuring that all fully processed information resources are released for circulation to all campus libraries

 Ensuring the adoption of bibliographic maintenance standards and authorities in an automated academic
environment
 Developing procedures for processing all library materials
 Reviewing technical services policies and procedures as assigned
 Any other duties assigned by the head of department


SENIOR REGISTRAR ASSISTANT (EXAMINATIONS)

Requirements

 Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or its equivalent from a reputable university
 3 years relevant experience
 Computer literacy skills (MS Office, e-mail, Internet)
 Good interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

 Printing students examination cards, registration slips and invoices.
 Issuing memos to applicants, students and administrative matters as dealt with and directed by the Deputy
Registrar.
 Capturing of the students’ grades into the System
 Receive and respond to visitors at the Registrar’s & Examinations Office appropriately.
 Ensuring availability of the necessary procurement for the Examinations office
 Supervise the issuing of the students’ examination cards and grades to the students.
 Attending to examinations issues within the University
 Assisting in the verification of certificates.
 Any other duty assigned by the Head of Department 


SENIOR REGISTRAR ASSISTANT (ADMISSIONS & RECORDS) 

Requirements

 Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or its equivalent from a reputable university
 3 years relevant experience
 Computer literacy skills (MS Office, e-mail, Internet)
 Good interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

 Capturing applicants’ data into the system.
 Capturing semester’s course outlines and timetables into the system
 Preparing students’ registration slips and invoices
 Preparing and distributing registration reports, class lists and grade lists to the relevant offices
 Ensuring the approval of students has been done as per the finance records
 Assisting in capturing of students’ grades as requested
 Updating students records on the areas of change of majors, minors and double majors
 Printing out students’ grade slips for every semester and transcripts at the end of every academic year and/or as
requested officially by the students and/or for administrative purposes.

 Attend to registration issues within the University
 Assisting in the verification of certificates.

ADMISSIONS ASSISTANT 

Requirements

 Diploma in Business Administration or its equivalent from a reputable university
 3 years relevant experience
 Computer literacy skills (MS Office, e-mail, Internet)
 Good interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

 Responding to University admission enquiries and to sending out prospectus and other appropriate materials
 Answering to general enquiries by telephone, e-mail, letters or in person from the potential applicants, staff,
students and visitors
 Referring more complex issues to the Deputy Registrar or Assistant Registrar
 Serving potential applicants by issuing them with necessary application forms
 Issuing registration forms, invoices, registration slips, examination cards, grade slips and timetables
 Any other duty assigned by the Head of Department 


ARCHIVIST

Requirements
 Bachelor’s degree in Records and Archives Management or its equivalent  from a recognized university;
 Masters in Library Sciences with specialization in Records and Archives Management at undergraduate
level may also be considered
 Three years’ experience in a busy Records and Archives office
 Knowledge of and experience with digital access management software, and institutional repository
software; management of electronic records
 Be conversant with relevant laws, policies, rules and regulations governing management of records and
archives
 Demonstrable skills in management of registries and registry systems, records survey and appraisal

Duties and Responsibilities 
 Evaluating records for preservation and retention
 Organizing the acquisition and retrieval of records;
 Liaising with depositors of archives and donors, both internal and external to the university;
 Preparing record-keeping systems and procedures for archival research and for the retention or destruction
of records;
 Cataloguing collections and managing information and records;
 Responding to personal, telephone, email and written enquiries from Daystar community members and
other like-minded publics and in accordance to Daystar policies
 Advising users on how best to access, use and interpret archives
 Facilitating remote access by maintaining user-friendly, computer-aided search systems;
 Arranging exhibitions, talks and visits;
 Facilitating training sessions on archival procedures;
 Budgeting and soliciting for funds to manage the archival collections

 Identifying ways of protecting and preserving collections;
 Managing and supervising junior staff; and
 Advising on the ongoing organization and storage of material in order to encourage the university to plan for
the future.
