BAE Systems is seeking
a Systems Integration Engineer for its Washington DC (80M Street / Washington Navy Yard) location.

There is no relocation assistance available for this position.  If relocation is necessary, the selected candidate must be willing to relocate at their own expense.

Must have the following education/skills/experience:

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Computer Science or related discipline and a minimum of four years of related professional technical experience
  • Have or obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within six (6) months and maintain certification indefinitely
  • Have or obtain OS/CE certification in compliance with DoD 8570 within six (6) months and maintain indefinitely
  • Experience in customer-facing support, system administration, configuration management and document management, technical writing/editing, and business process analysis/process improvement
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to take responsibility for ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Self-Starting, proactive approach to tasks
  • Strong learning capacity for software tools and technologies
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
  • Knowledge of system and software engineering architecture principles, concepts, and best practices
  • Experience integrating commercial and open-source technologies such as: Windows Server, Apache, Tomcat, IIS, Oracle, SQLServer, and Java
  • Hands-on experience using RDBMS databases and SQL
  • Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and deploying Windows applications
  • Hands-on experience developing and executing acceptance test plans
  • Ability to work in a team environment (network operations and software developers) with frequent customer contact
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • On occasion, ability and willingness to work outside of normal business hours for system administration duties, meeting milestones and deliverable dates, etc.

Preferred skills/experience:

  • Understanding of software configuration management concepts
  • Understanding of programming language concepts and life-cycles
  • Understanding of software security principles

Duties for the position include the following:

. Be a primary point of contact with customers for all their enterprise IT needs
. Work with various customers to elicit and identify business and functional requirements
. Work with the customers to design a solution to meet those needs
. Configure and perform system duties on implemented solutions
. Responsible for coordinating with the operations team to identify hardware and network requirements and to ensure they are available at the scheduled time
. Work with system content administrators to ensure business requirements are met
. Evaluate products and upgrades for appropriateness of cost and compatibility. Oversee and implement system upgrade strategies.
. Research current systems technology and serve as subject matter expert on complex systems processes and procedures.
