Perform Network Troubleshooting . Perform Computer Security Incident Response activities for a large organization, coordinates with other enterprise Service Towers to record and report incidents. Work incidents from cradle to grave. . Monitor and analyze Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Anomaly Detection Systems (ADS), Mcafee(SIM) to identify security issues for remediation. . Create, modify, update IDS and Security Information Management (SIM) tool rules . Recognize potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises thorough reviews and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information . Perform preliminary forensic evaluations of internal systems . Evaluate/deconstruct malware (e.g. obfuscated code) through open-source and vendor provided tools . Task other analysts and directs efforts to analyze the IDS and remediate security issues found . Train incoming analysts in roles and responsibilities . Communicate alerts to IT groups regarding intrusions and compromises to their network infrastructure, applications and operating systems . Assist with implementation of counter-measures or mitigating controls . Generate end-of-shift reports for documentation and knowledge transfer to subsequent analysts on duty . Evaluate firewall change requests and assess organizational risk . Ensure the integrity and protection of networks, systems, and applications by technical enforcement of organizational security policies, through monitoring of vulnerability scanning devices . Perform periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system and external Web integrity scans to determine compliance . Prepare briefings and reports of analysis methodology and results . Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and other similar documentation. . Build, maintain secure servers . Configure security appliances . Experience with the following: . Firewall, VPN and Intrusion Detection Devices: SourceFire, Juniper Netscreen, JunOS, Cisco Pix and ASA . Operating Systems: Windows, Red Hat Lnux, CentOS, solaris . Programming and Scripting: C, C++, Visual C++, Bash, SED, AWK, Perl, PHP .
