Call for Volunteers For The 3rd Asia Pacific Feminist Forum (6-9th September 2017, Chiang Mai, Thailand)  
Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) is currently inviting women with a commitment to feminist movement building and capacity to work in a demanding and energetic Secretariat (based in Chiang Mai, Thailand) for a 4 days voluntary position starting 2017.
Volunteers will work with APWLD staff and members to deliver the 3rd Asia Pacific Feminist Forum 2017 which constitutes a 4 day event bringing together 300 feminists from the Asia Pacific region along with global allies. APWLD is a regional network of women’s organisations and activists in Asia Pacific, committed to building feminist movements and advancing women’s rights.
Priority will be given to women from the Asia Pacific region but male applicants and those from outside the region may also be considered.
Criteria
The volunteering position is for those who have a background in and/or interest in working with women’s human rights issues on a regional level.
Interested candidates need to be able to work within a team, work well under pressure and be able to handle multiple tasks. Desired qualities include written and oral communication skills in English, while knowledge of other languages from the Asia Pacific region is an advantage.
Volunteers will preferably attend the full four day Forum 6-9th September 2017. Commitment around the Forum may be flexible depending on the individual.
How you will be involved as a volunteer organising the 3rd Asia Pacific Feminist Forum:
  • Support preparatory process of the 3rd APFF, including event logistics and administrative support (i.e. registration and application processing)
  • Support to the workshop facilitators and speakers as needed
  • Note taking in workshops and/or other sessions
  • Translation where appropriate
  • Work with the communications team to create content and share through social media platforms
  • Support participants at the Forum and provide link between those attending, venue and APWLD staff
  • Other tasks as directed  by APWLD staff
APWLD accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/or illness incurred while volunteering with APWLD. APWLD is not able to cover travel costs but meals are provided throughout the Forum. APWLD are committed to supporting volunteer development.

Internships at APWLD
Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) is currently inviting women with a commitment to feminist movement building and capacity to work in a demanding and energetic Secretariat to apply for programme internships.
APWLD is a regional network of women’s organisations and activists in Asia Pacific, committed to building feminist movements and advancing women’s rights. APWLD’s members are drawn from 26 countries and the secretariat is based in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Interns will work with programme staff across at least two programmes, providing research, administrative and communications support to Programme Officers.
Priority will be given to women from the Asia Pacific region but women from outside the region may also be considered.
INTERNSHIP APPLICATION FORM

Rolling Vacancy for Programme Intern
The Internship Programme is for women activists/students who have background of, and/or interest to work with, and be involved in, women’s human rights issues on a regional level.
APWLD encourages women from the region to apply and values the contribution of grassroots women’s knowledge to our work. APWLD makes every effort to provide learning opportunities to women from the Asia Pacific region as a priority. Interns work closely with APWLD secretariat to implement its four broad programs:

Work plan may include legal and social research, assistance in developing and writing position papers and generally supporting staff on other projects needs. The programme is for at least six (6) months.

Desired qualities include written and oral communication skills in English, while knowledge of other language from the Asia Pacific region is an advantage. It is preferred that they have excellent knowledge of their field of study or the sector they work with, and a working understanding of the issues APWLD deals with.APWLD endeavors to provide the experience that is relevant to the needs and interest of the interns.
APWLD does not have paid internship and does not provide stipends for interns. For interested students, degree in social science or in law is an advantage. For activists/NGO workers, strong background and involvement in human rights and/or women’s movement is an advantage.

Communications and Outreach Manager
SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The Communications and Outreach Manager will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer, and will be responsible for increasing iMMAP’s internal communications and external communications, visibility and raise awareness of the organization’s mission and accomplishments. The Communications and Outreach Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining iMMAP’s communications activity from iMMAP’s country offices and field projects.

Branding and Internal Communications

QUALIFICATIONS
Required

Full-time Communications and Outreach Manager should be hired to be the cohesive force behind all our branding and communications efforts. The candidate should have the following qualifications.   1. At least 8 years of experience and a background in nonprofit, internationally-focused organizations with communications and branding.

MENA Regional Programme Director
SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
iMMAP is looking for exceptional candidates for the position of Regional Programme Director for its Middle East & Northern Africa (MENA) Regional Office based in Amman, Jordan. iMMAP is seeking a Programme specialist with a minimum of 8 years of relevant leadership / management experience working in a humanitarian / recovery context, ideally as a Country Director; a strategic thinker and an exceptional communicator with the capacity to inspire and lead a network of skilled programme staff across the region. In addition, we are seeking an individual with a deep understanding of the challenges of working in coordination mechanisms and a solid knowledge of the context in region.
In this position, you will join highly motivated and expert staff who are making a difference to the most vulnerable people via a humanitarian-to-humanitarian mandate.
 
JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure the strategic development of Programme Support and Roving Capacity systems and structures that maximise support to the Country Offices
  • Capitalise on regional opportunities and experiences to further strengthen and develop iMMAP’s programmes in the region
  • Ensure current donor relations are well managed and utilized to a maximum and further explore potential new donor opportunities within the region
  • Serve as the focal point for input of relevant content to the region’s annual and quarterly reports
  • Serve as the region’s focal point to HQ on program compliance and related issues
  • Oversee the timely recruitment of programme staff for the regional office
  • Liaise with country directors and country office program leads to ensure effective and constructive communication between related functions and country offices

Senior Information Management Officer: Afghanistan
SCOPE OF WORK
The Senior Information Management Officer (SIMO) is a key position in the country of deployment, with support responsibility for all individuals and organizations designated by Country Representative for Afghanistan. The IMO will participate in establishing an effective information management unit that will support all goals and strategies of the iMMAP Afghanistan Program, national partners and applicable donor agencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The SIMO is responsible for daily integration of Cluster-related, and OFDA partner, data into OASIS, a Common Operating Picture (COP) system developed by iMMAP.
  • The SIMO will oversee the development of custom reports and map layers.
  • The SIMO will design and customize databases from the reporting Clusters, and prepare them for integration.
  • The SIMO will oversee the development of reporting and mapping products, and other geospatial information tools.
  • The SIMO will represent iMMAP interests at and assist in the development of cooperative data exchange and information management networks beneficial to iMMAP by liaising with stakeholder organizations.
  • The SIMO will work with the iMMAP Afghanistan team to ensure that all support requirements of iMMAP, OFDA, OCHA and other organizations are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  • The SIMO will conduct iMMAP demonstrations and training sessions.
  • The SIMO will develop Standing Operating Procedures (SOP), organization policies and national standards with regard to the deployment, use and maintenance of tools.
  • The SIMO will develop standard formats for, and regular output of publication of materials and statistics highlighting the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan as required by OFDA and the Clusters.
  • Prepare and deliver demonstrations and presentations concerning the capabilities and outputs of tools and other geospatial technologies;
  • Manage, supervise and mentor iMMAP national staff to build capacity, to operate, modify and maintain tools in the long term.
  • Conduct spatial analysis to identify populations at risk for available hazard data. Produce custom maps and reports.
  • Under the leadership of the Country Coordinator, engage potential donors and pursue alternative funding sources for iMMAP.
  • Identify new way and means to engage with NGOs, Humanitarian and development organisations.
  • Oversee the migration of client based tool to web based tools.
  • Disaster Risk Reduction: Compiling a historical record of major disasters in the selected province. iMMAP has already collected a significant amount of this data; including earthquakes, snow cover persistence, security incidents, landmine contamination, and flood inundation risk. Data collection will support analysis of existing localized risk within the province. The Data Collection Phase will also include collection of hazard assessments that have been conducted previously (e.g., seismic hazard assessment of Afghanistan by the United State Geological Survey [USGS])
  • Gap Analysis and Review of Available Data: in this stage, any gaps in available data will be identified and therefore fieldwork can focus on the collection of the missing data.
  • Decide upon the most appropriate available methodology for multi-hazard field data collection activity. This will take into account gaps identified in the previous phase, and focus upon collecting information that is not already available. This phase will include questionnaire development and incorporating existing data collection mechanisms from OCHA, UNDP, ANDMA, NGOs, and other organizations.
  • Develop preliminary maps of multiple hazards affecting the selected provinces.
  • Field data collection of hazards and their impacts.
  • Population Vulnerability Analysis: Field data will be incorporated to examine vulnerability of the population against each identified hazard. The vulnerability assessment will identify all possible impacts these hazards may have upon the population. The vulnerability assessment will clearly outline social, economic, physical and environmental aspects of hazard impacts upon communities.
  • Preparation of Vulnerability Maps.
  • Disaster risk reduction capacity assessment of partners and stakeholders from government and non-governmental agencies, including local communities. The capacity assessment component will examine DRR skills and knowledge capacity at the individual and institutional levels to manage future disaster risk. This assessment will also analyze local dependence upon the central government for disaster early warning and response.
  • Preparation of Capacity Assessment Maps.
  • Provide inputs to the final report
REPRESENTATION
  • Represent the iMMAP Afghanistan Team with national and international donors, partners and other organizations as directed, and participate in local community activities as appropriate.
  • Adhere to iMMAP branding guidelines for all iMMAP products and correspondence.
CHAIN OF COMMAND
The iMMAP SIMO works under the direct supervision of the iMMAP CTO for Afghanistan. The SIMO will work in close consultation with other members of the iMMAP Afghanistan Team and refer to the CC for operational and security assistance.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
  • At least 10 years of experience in the field of Information Management (IM).
  • Advanced University degree or related technical training in information management, computer information systems, database administration, knowledge management or geographic information systems.
  • Knowledge of the ESRI range of technical products and tools.
  • Experience in database administration and management.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
  • Proven skills in Remote Sensing and its applications

Information Management Officer: Ethiopia
SCOPE OF WORK
iMMAP is looking for skilled Information Management Officers (IMO) with past work experience in emergency settings. The incumbent will provide technical assistance to humanitarian organizations with regard to data collection, its processing, management, mapping and reporting. Under minimum supervision, the candidate will be dedicated to one of the any of the active cluster/sector in Ethiopia. He/she will ensure that information management products are timely delivered and of highest quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Information Management Officer (IMO) will provide support with data collection, its vetting, cleaning and processing, database development and/or maintenance, GIS mapping, data analysis and reporting, infographic design, website design and/or administration and any other required support for the benefit of sector and the humanitarian community. Tasks are, but not limited to the following:

  • Collect 4/5W data from partner organizations in a consistent and compatible format, enabling information sharing and analysis;
  • Consolidate and perform quality control on data collected;
  • Develop and administer relevant datasets and/or databases including content, structure, file location, backup system, using accepted international standards;
  • Generate maps, reports and other information graphics to support planning and decision-making;

South Syria IDP Analysis Project Lead Duty Station: Amman, Jordan with possible travel to Syria
Length of Contract: 8 months

POSITION PURPOSE
The need for reliable information and contextual analysis from Syria is apparent.  The Project Lead position is a senior leadership role within the iMMAP Syria program, entrusted with coordinating the activities of field operators, technical and analytical resources to achieve the laid-out objectives, ie:
  • Internally Displaced People (IDP) Tracking
  • Sub – District Level Profiling
  • Field Data Management
  • Research into field operations
The incumbent is expected to give overall direction of the project and ensure project deliverables are attained in a timely manner. This is a position that will oversee and supervise staff with specialist technical disciplines in IM and cross-border IDP and sub-district level profiling data collection and analysis. The Project Lead will lead the programmatic management and partnership aspects of IDP Tracking and sub-district level profiling activities in southern Syria.
In this regard, he/she will supervise effective management and relationships with partners, manage the project throughout the project cycle, lead in preparing and developing high quality programme plans, donor reports, ensure proper monitoring and evaluation, and enhance project internal and external representation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Lead (in line with the wider iMMAP Syria Strategy) is responsible for the following:
  • Inception of the project, as per donor requirements
  • Recruitment of personnel to meet project tasks
  • Oversee project parameters and day-to-day implementation of the project
