This position is located at MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina.

The purpose of this position is to supervise trades shop operations with the assistance from one or more work leaders while ensuring that emergency service work and other assignments are accomplished promptly and efficiently.

·         Determine training of management programs for the section such as safety, cost reduction, and incentive awards.

·         Recommends disciplinary action and promotions, receives grievances and attempts to resolve non-complex issues.

·         Select proper procedure (e.g. tools, materials, work techniques) based on established practices or specific instructions to perform repairs.

·         Interpret instructions (e.g. blueprints, maps, shop drawings, technical reports) to maintain, operate and repair equipment and systems.

·         Plan various phases of work (e.g. utilization of manpower, scheduling, type of equipment and material, methods, procedures, facilities utilized) to accomplish projects.

REQUIREMENTS: 

Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

Must possess a valid driver's license.

Some light to moderate lifting is required and the employee walks, climbs and bends to inspect work and assist trades persons in the performance of their work.

Occasional overtime required for emergency situations.
