ENSURING WORKERS ABROAD ARE SAFE
Nairobi Digital Village has entered into partnership with a Placement agency in Dubai to ensure Kenyans Domestic workers safety is guaranteed.
The partnership is a great effort to ensure Kenyans recruited by Nairobi Digital Village are safe
The following is an extract of the signed agreement which all employers must strictly adhere to.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PLACEMENT AGENCY
The Placement agency shall make sure that the wages of Workers are not less than minimum wage set by the UAE government
The Placement agency will be responsible to pick up the Employees upon arrival at Dubai International Airport or any airport of destination and provide all food, accommodation, transportation, communication free of cost until the worker join the work at Employers Place/house
The Placement agency shall provide Resolution of Conflict between Employer and Employee
The Placement agency shall monitor working hours
The Placement agency shall ensure all concerned department of Kenya Government will have the right to communicate directly with the workers, and the Employers as and when required knowing the present situation of the Worker.
The Placement agency will pay two way airfare tickets. Kenya to UAE, 3 - 5 days before departure and UAE to Kenya upon Completion of the contract and 3-5 days before departure.
The placement agency shall ensure that workers have the right to cancel their contact without notice if mistreated by their employers at any given time.
The Placement agency will also secure safety and security of the worker with the Employer during their contract period.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EMPLOYERS RECRUITING KENYAN DOMESTIC WORKERS
The Employer will provide workers job, comfortable accommodations, medical insurance, utilities, free meals or meal allowances with adequate time for meals, consumable materials in bedroom and other necessary materials with free of charge and no deduction from their wage.
IN ADDITION, Employer will also pay adequate International calling card/ Mobile bill to the Employee every month to call their family back home.
