Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.The WJB Dorn VA Medical Center is recruiting a board certified/board eligible Nephrologist. The individual will serve as a Staff Physician in the Nephrology Division, Medicine Service, VA Medical Center in a full-time position. Major duties may include dialysis, staffing of the chronic hemodialysis unit, kidney biopsies, inpatient renal consults, staffing of the weekly chronic kidney disease clinic, teaching of students and residents and fellows in these setting, and research in these settings.

Work Schedule: 0800-1630, call, nights, and weekends as assigned on a rotational basis

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

VA Handbook 5005, Part III, Chapter 2, paragraph 7, and VA Handbook 5019, Occupational Health Services.

In order to qualify for this position you must meet the following: Basic Requirements:  

Must be proficient in written and spoken English.Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Reference: VA Regulations, specifically VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G-2 Physician Qualification Standard.  This can be found in the local Human Resources Office.
