Finance & Administrative Assistant

To provide the Finance and Administration Manager of SOKO EPZ Ltd with financial and
administrative support including: processing all income and expenditure, inputting
transactions onto the Quickbooks accounting system, assisting in recruitment and
assisting with general administrative tasks.
He/she must have experience in accounting and MUST be willing to relocate to
Maungu.  
Key Responsibilities:
Finance
 Processing all income and expenditure (writing cheques and sending out payments;
making international payments; paying cheques into the bank etc)
 Inputting all transactions onto Quickbooks accounting system
 Day to day management of office petty cash; production of monthly spreadsheets
and entering into Quickbooks accounting system
 Monthly reconciliation of all bank statements
 Monitoring SOKO’s administration budget
Administration & HR
 Administering management meetings: compiling papers in advance and minuting
meetings
 Assisting the Finance and Administration Manager in the recruitment of staff and
interns
 Assisting Finance and Administration Manager in the updating of all policies and
procedures
 Supporting the management in ensuring that Health and Safety Regulations are
complied with

Person Specification
Essential
 Excellent administrative skills
 Experience of accounting and/or bookkeeping
 Knowledge of financial systems, including accounting systems and budgetary
 control
 Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
 Ability to work calmly under pressure and keep to deadlines
 Organised and able to manage various project simultaneously
 Ability to work independently but also as part of a small team
 IT literate
Desirable
 Accounting and/or bookkeeping training or qualifications
 Experience of using Quickbooks

Education and Qualification
 The ideal candidate will be a least a CPA 2 holder


 Practical knowledge of accounting software a must. (QuickBooks)

Terms & Conditions
 Fixed term, Full-time (equivalent of 5.5 days per week)
 Hours of work: (8.00 am – 5.00 pm with 15 min tea break and 1 hr lunch break
within the compound)
 Salary: Gross of KES 23,000 per month (inclusive of 15% house allowance)
 Tea and lunch will be provided
 Provision of medical cover with company doctor upon confirmation
 Notice period: 1 month in writing
 Probation period: 3 months
