This position is located in the Office of Human Resources and Professional Development (HRPD), Leadership and Professional Development Division (LADD) in Washington, D.C.
The Leadership and Professional Development Division is recognized for designing, implementing and managing all leadership development and post academy training for Special Agent and Industry Operations Investigator personnel, as well as for the training of other ATF professionals. Its mission is to train, educate and develop ATF personnel to succeed in a diverse and challenging environment, and to develop the skills needed to allow for success in fulfilling ATF's Mission and in developing the Bureau's future leaders.

Specialized experience for the position is managing and directing branches with program areas responsible for the continuing education and leadership development for all ATF employees. A high degree of managerial expertise and knowledge of supervisory principles/practices to participate in directing LPDD's staff in accomplishing its goals and objectives on leadership development and advanced training requirements.Ability to provide specific guidance and direction to staff, as well as faculty and instructional personnel, ensuring coordination/exchange of information on all activities related to educating and developing future Bureau Leaders to prevail in a diverse law enforcement environment.Skill in managing and implementing major activities of the training programs to ensure that products support the Bureau's strategic goals and mission; ability to develop short/long term goals in the planning/execution of the Leadership and Management programs to ensure relevancy and responsiveness to the needs of ATF.Exceptional oral and written communication skills in order to evaluate and make recommendations pertaining to LPDD's Leadership and Management educational training programs and operations; keeps Chief, LPDD aware of suggested training program improvements or appropriate policy revisions; skilled in using tact and diplomacy when dealing with various levels of Management internal and external.
