Responsible for recording incidents and providing support to the users. This position is part of the BAE Systems CV-TSC Software Development Team at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Keyport. CV-TSC is the organic Undersea Warfare System (USW) combat system element of the Aircraft Carrier (CVN).

There is no relocation assistance available for this position.  If relocation is required the selected candidate must be willing to relocate at his/her own expense.

Must have the following education/skills/experience:

  • A HS Diploma/GED with 4 years related and recent IT experience, preferably in Systems Administration

Preferred to have education/skills/experience:

  • Experience with imaging, backup, archiving, restore, and failover practices
  • Experience installing and integrating software with complex requirements
  • Knowledge of high-availability/high-performance system architectures
  • Moderate networking knowledge
  • Some relevant practical experience with Information Security implementation (STIGS, Compliance Scanning, etc.)
  • Moderate to Strong Linux/Unix system administration knowledge (scripting and automation experience desired)
  • Capable and willing to write clear and concise technical procedures

Responsibilities will include performing system administration functions for CV-TSC to include:

-  Maintaining network integrity and connectivity
-  Maintaining software developer's workstation configurations. Ensuring compliance with information security policies and maintain system backup and recovery capability
-  Reviewing Information Assurance & Vulnerabilities Assessments (IAVA) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) for supported operating systems
-  Implementing and verifying the implementation of the fixes.  Ensuring compliance by using Retina and Gold Disk scanning tools, and providing mitigation as applicable
-  Documenting system configuration and creating images utilizing the Ghost tool

The selected individual must be a motivated team player with the ability to work in a fast paced and challenging development environment. Individual must demonstrate a sense of cooperation and responsibility and have a proven track record of being able to plan, prioritize, and deliver assigned projects on time.

Although not required, candidates who possess an Active DoD Secret or higher security clearance, CCNA, Security+, Network+, Linux+, CISSP, RHCSA or RHCE, have knowledge of high-availability /high-performance system architecture and moderate networking knowledge, will be given highest priority.
