1. SCHOOL OF HEALTH SCIENCES
a. DEPARTMENT OF SURGERY AND ORTHOPAEDICS
i. Professor
Applicants must be holders of PhD Degree in Medicine or equivalent from a recognized university.
In addition applicants must have the following:

 At least twelve (12) years of university teaching, five (5) of which as full – time Associate Professor
 At least four (4) articles in refereed journals, since being appointed as Associate Professor
 Successful supervision of at least four (4) Masters students and at least two (2) PhD students since being appointed as Associate Professor
 Evidence of successfully applying for a grant either individually or as a group since being appointed as Associate Professor
 Evidence of active participation in departmental activities and good quality teaching
 Evidence of attendance and contribution at learning conferences, seminars or workshops
 Applicants must be registered by the Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Board and have specialized recognition
ii. Senior Lecturer
Applicants must be holders of Masters Degree in Medicine or equivalent from a recognized university in any of the following surgical areas:
 Opthalmology
 Plastic Surgery
 Urology
 Neurosurgery
 Paediatric Surgery
In addition applicants must have the following:
 At least five (5) years of university teaching, three (3) of which as full - time Lecturer
 At least three (3) articles in refereed journals since being appointed as Lecturer
 Successful supervision of at least (3) Masters students
 Evidence of applying for a grant either individually or as a group since being appointed as Lecturer
 Evidence of active participation in departmental activities and good quality teaching

iii. Lecturer

b. DEPARTMENT OF PAEDIATRICS AND CHILD HEALTH
i. Skills Technician – Grade C/D
Applicants must be holders of KCE Division II/ KCSE Mean Grade C+ (plus) and above. The applicants must also be holders of a Higher National Diploma (HND) or Higher Diploma from a recognized institution in any of the following areas:
 Clinical Medicine (Paediatrics)
 Paediatric Nursing
 Theatre Nursing
In addition applicants must have the following:
 At least three (3) years relevant work experience in a busy Paediatric and Child Health Unit
 Computer literate
 Demonstrate leadership and administrative skills
Duties:
 Sourcing, compiling and display of clinical teaching aids
 Offering technical support to Lecturers during teaching and examination session
 Assisting students master basic skills during clinical placements
 Maintenance of equipments in the skills Laboratories
c. DEPARTMENT OF OBSTETRICS AND GYNAECOLOGY
i. Professor
Applicants must be holders of PhD Degree in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology or equivalent from a recognized university.

 Successfully supervised at least four (4) Masters students and one (1) Ph. D student, since being appointed as Senior Lecturer
 At least four (4) articles in refereed journals since being appointed as Senior Lecturer
 Evidence of successfully applying for a grant either individually or as a group since being appointed as Senior Lecturer
 Evidence of active participation in departmental activities and good quality teaching
 Evidence of attendance and contribution at learned conferences, seminars or
Workshops
 Registered by the Medical Practitioners, ‘Dentists’ Board and have specialist recognition
iii. Senior Lecturer
Applicants must be holders of PhD Degree in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology or equivalent from a recognized university.
In addition applicants must have the following:
 At least five (5) years of university teaching, three (3) of which as full - time Lecturer
 At least three (3) articles in refereed journals since being appointed as Lecturer
 Successful supervision of at least (3) Masters students
 Evidence of applying for a grant either individually or as a group since being appointed as Lecturer
 Evidence of active participation in departmental activities and good quality teaching
 Evidence of attendance and contribution at learning conferences, seminars or workshops
 Registered by the Medical Practitioners, ‘Dentists’ Board and have specialist recognition
Sub – specialization will be an added advantage.

iv. Lecturer
Applicants must be holders of PhD Degree in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology or equivalent from a recognized university.
In addition applicants must have the following:
 At least two (2) years university teaching/ clinical experience in a recognized instution
 Have attained the professional level of consultant Obstetrics and Gynaecology
 Registered by the Medical Practitioners, ‘Dentists’ Board and have specialist recognition
v. Technician – Grade C/D
Applicants must be holders of KCE Division II/ KCSE Mean Grade C+ (plus) and above. They must have a minimum professional qualification of a Higher National Diploma in any Medical field from Kenya Medical Training College preferably Laboratory/ Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
In addition applicants must have the following:
 At least two (2) years work experience in a learning institution
 Computer literate
Ability to work with a Biostatics analytical package will be an added advantage.
2. SCHOOL OF EDUCATION
DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY
i. Professor
Applicants must be holders of PhD Degree in Educational Psychology or equivalent from a recognized university.
In addition applicants must have the following:
 At least twelve (12) years of university teaching, five (5) of which as full – time Associate Professor
 At least four (4) articles in refereed journals, since being appointed as Associate Professor
 Successful supervision of at least four (4) Masters students and at least two (2) PhD students since being appointed as Associate Professor

ii. Associate Professor

3. SCHOOL OF APPLIED HUMAN SCIENCES
DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL AND HEALTH EDUCATION
i. Senior Lecturer
Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in Physical Education from a recognized university.
In addition applicants must have the following:
 At least five (5) years of university teaching, three (3) of which as full - time Lecturer
 At least three (3) articles in refereed journals since being appointed as Lecturer
 Successful supervision of at least (3) Masters students
 Evidence of applying for a grant either individually or as a group since being appointed as Lecturer
 Evidence of active participation in departmental activities and good quality teaching
 Evidence of attendance and contribution at learning conferences, seminars or workshops
ii. Lecturer
Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree in Physical Education from a recognized university.

In addition applicants must have full time teaching experience for at least three (3) years as Tutorial Fellow or Teaching Assistant.
4. SCHOOL OF VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS
DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC AND DANCE
i. Full - Time Studio Technician and Instructor – Grade A/B
Applicants must be holders of KCE Division III/ KCSE Mean Grade C (Plain) and above. They must also have a minimum professional qualification of a Diploma in Music Technology / Sound Engineering or equivalent.
In addition applicants must have the following:
 At least three (3) years relevant work experience as a performing Musician or a Studio Technician, two (2) of which in a recording studio
 Experience with Macintosh Operational Systems and conversant with Studio Programmes including Pro – tools, Logic Pro, Garage Band and Fruity Loops
 Instructional knowledge in:
 Music recording concert production and staging
 Computing and sequencing techniques
 Music and multimedia
5. KENYATTA UNIVERSITY WEBSITE OFFICE
i. Web Designer – Grade C/D
Applicants must be holders of KCE Division II/ KCSE Mean Grade C+ (plus) and above, they must have a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology/ Computer Science or equivalent from a recognized university.
In addition applicants must have the following:
 At least two (2) years work experience in a busy ICT office
 Good knowledge in PHP Programming, MySQL Database, JavaScript and HTML
 Fundamental of Design Imaging, Web Design and Content Management
 Animation
 Editing for video and audio
 Multimedia programming and technology
6. KENYATTA UNIVERSITY RADIO SERVICES
i. Radio Technician – Grade A/B
Applicants must be holders of KCE Division III/KCSE Mean Grade C (Plain) and above. They must also have a minimum professional qualification of a Diploma in Broadcast Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
In addition applicants must have the following:
 At least three (3) years relevant working experience in media setting
 Well versed with studio operations and radio production
Applicants with Knowledge of I-Media package will have an added advantage.

7. INSTITUTE OF OPEN, DISTANCE & E-LEARNING (ODeL)
i. Coordinator– Grade 12 (Mombasa, Kakamega and Nairobi Centre)
Applicants must be holders of a Masters Degree in Education or related field from a recognized university. In addition they must have at least five (5) years relevant work experience in teaching and or administration.
The duties of a Coordinator include the following:
 Promoting efficient management of this Centre.
 Coordination of academic and administration activities at the University
 Assisting and advising students when required
 Serve as a liaison officer between the Centre and the University
 Marketing Kenyatta University programmes
ii. Administrative Assistant - Grade C/D (Nairobi Centre)
Applicants must be holders of KCE Division II/ KCSE Mean Grade C+ (plus) and above. They must also be holders of a Bachelors Degree from a recognized university.
Applicants with additional qualification in Management, CPS or equivalent will have an added advantage.
In addition applicants must have the following:
 At least three (3) years relevant post qualification work experience
 Computer literate
iii. Secretary – Grade A/B (Mombasa, Kakamega and Nairobi Centre)
Applicants must be holders of KCE Division III/ KCSE Mean Grade C (plain) and above. They must also have a Credit or Grade C and above in English.
In addition, the applicants must have the following:
 Type writing speed of 50wpm
 Shorthand speed of 100wpm
 Office practice II
 Office management
 Business English III
 Computer literate
 At least three (3) years relevant work experience
8. DIRECTORATE OF ACCOMMODATION SERVICES
i. Hostel Attendant – Grade III/IV
Applicants must be holders of KCE Division IV/KCSE mean grade D+ (plus) and above. They must also have a clean discharge Certificate from disciplined forces (Armed forces, Kenya Police, National Youth Service -NYS) indicating the rank.
In addition applicants must have the following:
 At least three (3) years work experience in the relevant area

 Valid Certificate of good conduct
 Computer literate
The successful candidate will be deployed to either Main or Ruiru Campus and will report daily to the Director Accommodation Services.
The duties of a Hostel Attendant include the following:
 Looking after students welfare in the hostel
 Enforcing rules and regulations in the hostel
 Taking care of the University property
 Attending to sick students
 Handling complaints from students
 Dealing with emergencies
 Any other duties as allocated by the Director of Accommodation or Hostels Manager
9. CENTRE FOR REFUGEE STUDIES & EMPOWERMENT (KU-CRSE)
DAADAB CAMPUS
i. Campus Coordinator – Grade 12
Applicants must be holders of a Masters Degree in Education or related field from a recognized university. In addition they must have at least five (5) years relevant work experience in teaching and or administration.
The duties of a Coordinator include the following:
 Promoting efficient management of Daadab Campus.
 Co-ordination of academic and administration activities at the university.
 Assisting and advising students when required.
 Serve as a liaison officer between the centre and the university.
 Marketing Kenyatta University programmes.
ii. Clinical Officer – Grade E/F
Applicants be holders of KCE Division II/ KCSE mean Grade C+ (plus) and Higher National Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or equivalent from a recognized institution.
In addition applicants must have the following:
 At least five (5) years work experience in a busy National, Provincial, District, Mission or Private Hospital
 Registered by Clinical Officers Council
 Computer literate
Post graduate Diploma in relevant field is an added advantage.

iii. Registered Nurse – Grade E/F
Applicants must be holders of KCE Division II/ KCSE mean grade C+ and above. They must also have a National Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution and be registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
In addition applicants must have worked in a busy National/ Provincial/ Mission or Private Hospital or in a busy Government Health Centre for at least five (5) years.
Candidates with experience from Daadab region will have an added advantage.
Candidates with additional medical certificates and a certificate in computer applications will have an added advantage.
Duties will involve working in a busy university clinic during daytime, at night, weekends and public holidays.
iv. Administrative Assistant – Grade C/D
Applicants must be holders of KCE division II/ KCSE mean grade C+ (plus) and above. They must also be holders of a Bachelors degree from a recognized university.
Applicants with additional qualification in Management, CPS or equivalent will have an added advantage.
In addition applicants must have the following:
 At least three (3) years relevant post qualification work experience
 Computer literate
v. Senior Library Assistant – Grade C/D
Applicants must be holders of KCE division II/ KCSE mean grade C+ (plus) and above. They must also be holders of a Bachelors degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent from a recognized university.
In addition applicants must have the following:
 At least three (3) years relevant post qualification work experience
 Have worked in an automated academic library
 Computer literate
vi. Binder Technician – Grade A/B
Applicants must have KCE Division III/KCSE Mean Grade C- (minus), they must also have a minimum professional qualification of Government Trade Test 1 in Book Binding or Print Finishing 1.
In addition applicants must have the following:
 At least three (3) years work experience
 Computer literate

In addition applicants must have at least three (3) years relevant work experience.
ix. Registry Clerk – Grade III/IV
Applicants must be holders of KCE Division IV/ KCSE Mean Grade D+ (plus) and above. They must also have a minimum professional qualification of a Certificate in Records Management or related field from a recognized institution.
In addition applicants must have the following:
 At least three (3) years relevant work experience as Registry Clerk in an academic or research institution
 Computer literate
x. Data Entry Clerk – Grade III/IV
Applicants must be holders of KCE Division IV/ KCSE Mean Grade D+ (plus) and above. They must also have a minimum professional qualification of a Certificate in Information Technology or related field from a recognized institution.
In addition applicants must have the following:
 At least three (3) years relevant work experience as Data Entry Clerk in an academic or research institution
 Computer literate
xi. Caretaker – Grade III/IV
Applicants must be holders of KCE division IV/ KCSE mean grade D+ (plus) and above. They must also have a clean discharge Certificate from disciplined forces (police, prisons, army, NYS) or a security firm.

TERMS OF REFERENCE:
The terms of service for the above include a generous medical scheme, house allowance and commuting allowance. Successful candidates will be offered two (2) year renewable performance - based contract and gratuity will be paid at the end of the contract.
