Foreman

Under the day-to-day supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor and/or the Assistant Warehouse Supervisor and under the general supervision of the Head, Sales and Warehouse Unit, to be responsible for the proper handling and storage of goods, and for the timely and correct transfer of the merchandise to the Salesroom including preparation for pick-up of credit sale orders.

Working Relationships

The Foreman interacts with Commissary customers of all levels, freight forwarder personnel and exchanges work-related information with Commissary staff.

Functions / Key Results Expected

* Receive, check and take over all incoming deliveries by unloading trucks and trailers using motorised forklifts. Dismantle the sealed pallets, sort and count the boxes, check the box contents and expiry dates, identify the goods and check these details against delivery documents and/or invoices and report any discrepancies. Perform data entries into the IT system of the Commissary.

* Guide warehouse workers in the effective and appropriate handling and storage of goods in the warehouse, while observing the prevailing safety regulations and adhering to the first-in-first-out principle. Be responsible for book-stock adjustments and take part in the year-end inventory including data input.

* Ensure that daily transfers of merchandise to the Salesroom are carried out accurately and in a timely manner. Enter any discrepancies between requisitions and deliveries into the IT system. Prepare the pick-up of credit sales orders.

* Check, lock and unlock the warehouse doors, activate and deactivate the Commissary alarm system at the start and end of the working day.

* Take part in the Commissary's on-call duty scheme established to cover emergencies outside the Commissary's opening hours including weekends.

* If assigned, backstops for Assistant Warehouse Supervisor and the Salesroom Foreman.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Strong customer orientation with the ability to deal with customers and staff at all levels in a professional manner.

* Ability to carry out duties independently, with self-initiative and perform assignments with accuracy.

* Good health, physical fitness and strength to carry out strenuous unloading, unpacking and shelving work.

* Basic knowledge in MS Office 2010 which is the IAEA standard (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems an advantage.

Education, Experience and Language Skills

* Completed secondary education.

* Minimum of two years of relevant working experience including warehousing and the handling of consumer goods.

* Forklift driving licence.

* Experience in data entry applications and basic clerical/administrative experience.

* English Language Test (Level 2) and English Typing Test (Level 2) to IAEA standard.

* Good knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (i. e. Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) an asset.

Remuneration

The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at €31 335 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), 6 weeks' annual vacation, pension plan and health insurance.
