1. COMMUNICATIONS DUTIES
Act as Communications Focal Point for the IUCN China Programme.
Develop, implement and monitor the IUCN China Programme communications strategy, based on the IUCN regional communications strategy and adhering to regional and global communications policies.
Produce high quality communications and knowledge products in a range of formats including reports, speeches, presentations, publications, brochures, web stories, press releases, short films, podcasts, etc.
Ensure that IUCN branding, guidelines, and other communications policies and procedures are strictly followed in all communications products, and by all staff and consultants, and that messages and products are aligned with project objectives and IUCN Programme.
Work with the Programme Coordinator to ensure strategic communications are integrated into all project concepts, proposals, budgets and work plans, and that these elements are adequately budgeted for.
Work with the Programme Coordinator to ensure project communications are effectively implemented.
Develop and manage web content and digital resources including social media such as Sina Weibo (IUCN China), WeChat and APP. Do regular updates to the IUCN website and social media in both Chinese and English. Proactively manage and monitor media relations, including pitching of stories, organizing press events, maintaining a media database and distributing relevant global, regional and national press releases to media contacts.
Contribute content related to IUCN China activities to regional and global communications activities and products.
Monitor and evaluate communications activities and provide monthly, quarterly and annual reports to the Programme Coordinator.
Work closely with the Head of Asia Communications to optimize collaboration and ensure programmatic alignment.
Support the IUCN China programme staff to deliver programme communications strategies and activities in China, including designing and producing communications materials, delivering events and campaigns, and outreach to stakeholders and wider audiences through media and other channels.
Assist the IUCN China team in running a number of different types of events, such as press conferences, Members events and project launches. .
2. CONSTITUENCY DUTIES
2. 1. Assist in Membership Coordination, Member Recruitment and Retention
Under the guidance of the Country Representative, act as the Membership Focal Point for IUCN Members based in China, and liaise with IUCN Members in China on a regular basis and ensure relevant information is communicated to the membership
Manage and maintain the Member database, including commission members, ensuring accurate and timely data input to the Constituency Relationship Management (CRM) for China, and providing necessary information to management for actively engaging with members
Assist and encourage members to use the IUCN Portal and take responsibility to upload information relevant to members in China on a regular basis
Develop, manage and update web content (using IUCN Content Management) and digital resources for IUCN Members in China, including promotional material in consultation with relevant staff
Communicate relevant information to organizations that are interested in becoming IUCN Members, provide support for the identification and recruitment of appropriate new members, and provide information related to the membership and facilitate application processes, in coordination with the Asia Regional Office;
Assist the IUCN China programme staff in developing and implementing a membership retention strategy, which might include mobilizing support for the work of Members where relevant to the IUCN Global Programme Strategy, and attending meetings held by IUCN Members in China
Liaise with the Membership Manager, Asia on membership
