Don Recent Graduate Program Hr Specialist RIDGECREST, CA

ELIGIBILITY:

Recent graduates who have completed a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocation or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institute after 27 December 2010.

Applications will be accepted from students who expect to complete qualifying education up to 9 months prior to the closing date of this job opportunity announcement. However, agencies are required to verify that the education has been completed successfully before any applicant can be appointed (report to work); therefore, your selection or start date may be impacted by proof and completion of all Pathways requirements. 

Veterans unable to apply within two years of receiving their degree, due to military service obligation, have as much as six years after degree completion to apply.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT:

·       Orientation program

·       Mentorship throughout the Program.

·       Individual Development Plan to assist with career planning, professional development, and training activities.

·       At least 40 hours of formal, interactive training each year of the Program.

·       Positions may offer opportunity for career advancement.

AFTER PROGRAM COMPLETION:

Recent Graduates may be converted to a permanent position (or, in some limited circumstances a term appointment lasting 1-4 years).

To be eligible for conversion, Recent Graduates must:

·       Be a US Citizen.

·       Successfully completed at least 1-year of continuous service in addition to all requirements of the Program.

·       Demonstrated successful job performance.

·       Met the qualifications for the position to which the Recent Graduate will be converted.

QUALIFICATIONS:
In addition to the eligibility for the Pathways Recent Graduate Program, you must also meet the requirements for the individual position.  In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered.   Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities, as they relate to this position. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience.

General Experience is: 3 years of  progressively responsible general experience, 1 year of which demonstrates the ability to assist in researching HR concepts, laws, regulations, rules, principles and practices relating to any of the following: staffing/employment, classification, compensation, performance management or employee relations.

OR successfully completed a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor’s degree or possess a bachelor’s degree in an accredited college or university

OR a combination of general experience and education as listed above.

QUALIFYING EDUCATION:

1) A high school whose curriculum has been  approved by a State or local governing body, or a home-school curriculum that has been approved by such a body or a State; and

2) Any of the following educational institutions or curricula that have been accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the secretary of the U.S. Department of Education:

(i) A technical or vocational school;

(ii) A 2-year or 4-year college or university;

(iii) A graduate or professional school (e.g., law school, medical school); or

(iv) A home-school curriculum

You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the qualification requirements if the applicant can provide documentation indicating that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
