Senior Manager, Benefits

The Senior Manager, Benefits will be responsible for the design, development, administration and communication of the IRC global benefits programs, focusing on optimization of benefits and wellness plans to attract and retain staff.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsible for the design, administration and communication of all IRC benefits programs, including wellness programs to ensure that health and welfare benefit plans meet quality, cost and employee satisfaction objectives and IRC overall long term care strategy. Establishes policies and procedures relating to all employee benefit programs and assures legal compliance for all plans.Analyze benefits “best practices” and trends to assure that all benefit programs are competitive and monitor IRC plans in order to identify areas for improvement. Research possible solutions and make recommendations to HR Leadership for all changes and/or enhancements to the existing benefits program.Develop, implement and maintain a benefits communication and education program and plan to enhance employee understanding of IRC benefit programs. Partner with HR leadership and IRC management to initiate benefits education and orientation sessions; coordinate development and distribution of annual total compensation statements, and maintain the accuracy of benefits information on IRC’s intranet.Administer the pension plans, 403(b) plan, benefits programs, including medical, wellness, dental, life and disability insurance, flexible spending. Maintains benefits records.  Ensures the accurate and timely payment of monthly vendor bills, and the preparation of benefits related reports. Develops analyses of statistical and census data for insurance carriers, vendors and senior management.Helps monitor overall benefits costs and assure competitive pricing for all benefits program components. Participates in the periodic solicitation of input from benefits vendors/providers and provide guidance to HR leadership regarding vendor/provider selection.  Acts as a key liaison to benefit vendorsCounsels employees regarding retirement planning options, non-routine benefits coverage questions and exceptional needs. Manage annual open enrollment process, report and evaluate.Other administrative duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or universityEight (8) to Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in benefits design and administration for a large organization, including international benefitsCertified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP)Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, HRIS software and related reporting tools (Workday and ADP preferred).Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally.Ability to work independently; Excellence judgment.Proactive mindset; Attention to detail and understanding of quality review processExperience with business process design/continuous improvementIRC leading the way from harm to home.
