Web/ Database Developer

The UNOPS development team is to provide the organization with tools and resources to compliment and support the corporate Intranet, corporate Website and Atlas, UNOPS’ ERP system in alignment with the UNOPS technology platform and ICT strategy. System development domains include eProcurement, finance, knowledge management, HR tools, and project management. Scrum is used as the project framework.

Reporting to the ICT Development team lead in Copenhagen, Bangkok, the Web/Database Developer will deliver ASP. net solutions to support UNOPS users around the world. The developer will be a part of a dynamic development team utilizing agile/scrum based software development processes. Emphasis is put on creative problem solving, collaboration with users, and fostering an active knowledge sharing environment.

Below are some of the functionalities.

Develop and test web applications (Asp. net/SQL Server/JavaScript) that support corporate business systems infrastructure; develop systems that adhere to the product and service needs of internal clients.

Implement solutions compliant with UNOPS solution approach.

Proactively solicit and discuss user feedback and support and extend applications as needed.

Perform other related duties as required.

The personnel is responsible to abide by security policies, administrative instructions, plans and procedures of the UN Security Management System and that of UNOPS.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education:

Secondary Education is required

Bachelors degree (ICT/Communication/Physics/Mathematics or similar) is desired

Experience:

Minimum four years of relevant work experience preferably in the field of software development using Microsoft technologies

Knowledge of the UN system and experience of working cross cultural and over practices is an asset.

Language:

Fluency in English is required
