Sustainability Analyst

The Sustainability Analyst will be responsible for
the following key responsibilities.

Innovate,
plan, initiate and execute projects for the implementation of sustainable
procurement

* Innovate
projects supporting the implementation and operationalization of sustainable
procurement practices

* Conduct
project-based support for complex sustainable procurement cases

* Design
sustainability risk management approaches for higher risk contracts and
suppliers

* Facilitate
knowledge sharing within the delivery practice

Design and roll-out of
Sustainable Procurement advisory tools

* Identify
and suggest innovative solutions and tools for providing advisory services in sustainable
procurement that meet the needs of UNOPS existing and perspective partners

* Design
and develop components of a service offering portfolio in supply chain
sustainability performance.

Partnership outreach and
development

* Identify and reach out to key partners to support SPPG’s sustainable procurement strategy

* Build
and manage relationships with key partners by organizing workshops,
conferences, issuing joint papers and other relevant activities

* Leverage
partners knowledge and expertise to maximize impact and ensure application of
best practices

* Represent
the SPPG in internal, inter-agency and external initiatives related to
sustainable procurement and sustainability, and pursue relevant partnerships in
support of the strategic goals of SPPG

* Contribute
to SPPG's business development activities, e. g. by marketing and delivering
sustainable procurement trainings and workshops

Knowledge development,
training delivery and reporting

* Coordinate
collection and reporting of data on sustainable procurement performance through
existing instruments and develop innovative baseline and target setting tools

* Develop
and contribute to the development of products such as flagship publications,
academic articles, participation in conferences and seminars etc. on sustainability
and sustainable procurement topics, with the aim of making UNOPS the thought
leader in sustainable procurement

* Develop
training materials and other knowledge products

* Deliver
sustainable procurement trainings for UNOPS colleagues and partner organizations

* Keep
abreast of knowledge developments and innovations in the sustainable
procurement field, and ensure these are captured and disseminated into UNOPS

Other responsibilities

* Undertake
any other support activity that will emerge as necessary for facilitating
implementation of sustainable procurement on the ground.

* Take
on other duties as agreed with the Team Manager, Sustainability team

Skills

* In-depth
understanding and work experience in sustainability and sustainable procurement
required

* Solid understanding of procurement and supply chain processes, in particular of the public sector required

* Solid understanding of the public sector, namely of national administrations or international organisations required

* Experience in training delivery will be an asset

* Proven project management experience will be an asset

* Knowledge of UN rules and regulations desirable

* Excellent analytical skills

* Excellent computer skills, in particular substantial expertise with PowerPoint and Excel

* Excellent organizational skills; capacity to handle several projects at the time

* Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

Education

University
degree in Environmental Management, Economics, Business, International
Politics, Development Studies or related fields is required.

A
bachelor's degree will be accepted in lieu of a Master's if the candidate can
document additional 2 years of relevant experience.

Certification:

Professional certification in procurement (e. g. CIPS, NIGP) will be considered an asset

Professional certification in project management (e. g. PRINCE2) will be considered an asset

Experience

In
addition to a Master's degree, a minimum of 2 years of directly relevant
experience is required.

Language

Fluency in written and oral English is required.

Knowledge of another UN working language, ie French or Spanish, desirable.
