Chemonics seeks a bar association/legal profession expert for the anticipated five-year, USAID-funded Legal Professional Development and Anti-Corruption (LPAC) activity. LPAC aims to improve the formal justice sector by strengthening legal professional training institutions. It will build the capacity of key Liberian justice sector institutions and support the Liberian Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) and associated government of Liberia entities to investigate, prosecute, and convict perpetrators of corruption-related crimes and to educate the public regarding the fight against corruption in the country. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
Provide technical assistance and skills transfer, on a day-to-day basis to the Executive Committee and technical staff of the Liberian National Bar AssociationManage long- and short-term consultants who will backstop the bar association/legal profession expertShare expertise with the Judicial Institute, LACC, or the Law SchoolQualifications:
J.D. or equivalent-level law degree from an accredited university in a common-law country requiredExperience in bar association management and developmentExperience with continuing legal education course and program development, and public communications and outreach developmentAdmission to practice law in a common-law jurisdiction requiredExperience supervising long- and short-term staffExcellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skillsComputer literacy requiredDemonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrityFluency in EnglishApplication Instructions:
