Climate Change Communication Consultant

Under the guidance of the UN-REDD team and the Finnish funded MICCA Project team:

1. Contribute to the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the communication efforts
2. Support the development of knowledge products (oversee the drafting, editing, coordination of layout, printing and
dissemination of products such as policy briefs, technical reports, blogs, success stories, etc. )
3. Collaborate with team members in the knowledge exchange and outreach of the online network "Community of Practice
for Climate change Mitigation in Agriculture" through various fora. Be in charge of summarizing the results of learning
events of the community
4. Maintain the project's websites, fora and other related communication channels as requested in three languages (English,
Spanish & French)

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Expected Outputs: Required Completion Date: December 2014
(1 month break in July?August)
Proactive and experienced advice, planning and implementation of communication efforts.
Timely delivery of printed materials.
Identified key target audiences have been reached with the key products.
The MICCA web site is more user-friendly and the visits to the site have grown at least by
20% by 6 months.
UN-REDD Programme documents produced and distributed in a timely manner.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

Education:
- Degree in communications and/or at least 5 years of work experience

Requirements
- Strong editing skills
- Experience in managing websites through content management systems
- Attention to detail
- Excellent IT skills
Assets
- Experience in facilitation and web conferencing tools
- Knowledge of REDD, climate change and/or agriculture subjects
- Previous working experience within an UN organization
Language:
- Native English speaker; excellent command of either Spanish and/or French
