The
Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) leads
international efforts to defeat hunger and to support development in
member countries in the areas of agriculture, fisheries and forestry.
FAO’s mandate is to raise levels of nutrition, improve agricultural
productivity, better the lives of rural populations and contribute to
the growth of the world economy.

Duties and Responsibilities | ||
Interns
will be assigned to different fields of work according to their profile
and to the needs of the Organization. The interns will be involved in
the work of the Unit that has selected them and will carry out
assignments relevant to their studies or interests.
The
intern will perform the functions specified in his/her Terms of
Reference (TORs), prepared by the Division/Office concerned before the
beginning of the assignment and agreed by the intern.

Candidates for the FAO Internship Programme must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Candidates
must specialize in a field relevant to the mission and work of FAO,
including the fields below, or other fields deemed relevant by the
hiring units.

All
candidates should possess computer/word processing skills and should be
capable of working with people of different national and cultural
backgrounds.
