Finance Officer

The incumbent will report to the Chief RMIS and will be responsible for the following
duties:

General Duties:
Manage the RM WINGS Helpdesk function ensuring an efficient service for Finance, Budget
and Programing users worldwide. Support RM Division's system and processes innovations
and help ensure proper functionality of core financial systems. Facilitate WINGS training
initiatives for Finance staff in the field and HQ, develop and update financial management
and oversight reports and review the creation and maintenance of exceptional RM WINGS
authorization profiles ensuring alignment with internal control principles.

Specific Duties:
Oversee the helpdesk team activities to ensure a timely and efficient resolution of
support queries for finance, budget and programming staff worldwide;
Act as Senior Process expert for Finance, in particular for Accounts Payable, Budget
Control System (BCS), Asset Accounting as well as integration with Travel,
Procurement, Treasury and Fund Management and perform all activities required to
ensure an efficient resolution of key integration issues
Coordinate implementation of system fixes and improvements with Information
Technology Division's (OST) Application Development/Maintenance team.
Perform basic SAP configuration for Pre-Approved Changes in WINGS (e. g. house
banks, petty cash accounts, account determination, bank communication settings,
etc. )
Support innovations in Finance and Treasury Division's business processes and
systems and related WINGS project initiatives;
Prepare and conduct WINGS refresher training courses for finance users and support
special missions to enhance staff capacity in Finance;
Enhance and maintain financial oversight and management tools;

Coordinate validation of RM WINGS authorization profiles to ensure alignment with
internal control principles;
Provide ad-hoc support as required

Qualifications & Experience Required
Education:
Advanced University degree (masters or equivalent) in Finance, Business Administration,
Accounting or related fields; or University degree in the same subject(s) plus
membership in an internationally recognized professional accountancy body such as
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Institute of Certified Public
Accountants (ICPA) or equivalent.

Experience:
At least five years of postgraduate progressively responsible professional experience
in the area of finance, in particular Accounts Payables and related business
processes, such as invoices, payments, cash management;
Experience with Helpdesk function, financial reporting and training;
Experience in SAP project management.

Technical Skills & Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of all SAP Financial modules, in particular Accounts Payables and
the integration with Fund Management, Travel Management, Asset Accounting and
Materials Management;
Very good knowledge of financial reporting tools, in particular ABAP query functions;
Very good knowledge of SAP budgeting and fund management tools as well as the
related reports;
Training and/or experience utilising computers, including word processing, spread
sheets and/or other software packages and systems;
Good knowledge of UN system policies, financial rules, regulations and procedures is
an asset;
Skills to shift between different projects and understand quickly the business
requirements.

communication skills and high standards of ethics and values.

Language:
Working knowledge (proficiency/level C) of English and intermediate knowledge
(level B) of another UN official language, Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and
Spanish or one of WFP's working languages, Portuguese.
